is this a good pocket knife?

so im 16, and my dads always taught us to keep a pocket knife with us. just cause, we grew up in louisiana, in the woods. and yeah.

but anyways, i just have a 10 dollar one from walmart. dont get me wrong. its the best 10 dollars ive ever spent on a knife. it should of been a 50 dollar knife for how good it is.

but i just want a change. and i was thinking of this one.

http://www.amazon.com/SOG-Specialty-Knives-AE-04-Serrated/dp/B00137ETQU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=industrial&qid=1301173750&sr=8-1

has anyone ever used it? is it good? or just okay? the reviews say its great. but yeah lol.

and i would be buying it with my own money. so the price isnt a problem.

also if youd like to suggest a better knife, or the knife you use. thatd be awesome.

no fixed blades though, because they’re illegal where i live now :x .

and i dont really want a big bulky knife. or a small one, just a medium size.

thankss!
well it would mainly be for cutting misc things whenever i need too, like boxes and just random things.

and self defense if i ever needed to use it for that.

Not bad – depends on what you’re going to use it for. An overall utility knife might need a normal blade on it. You often end up cutting food and eating with a knife.

If you want a really good fighting knife, think about a carpenter’s utility knife with the replaceable razor blades. These are perfect for fighting as they have a huge handle and a small blade – and your business is to just nick your opponent and get him bleeding so he’ll run away. Also – those terrorists were able to take over airplanes with these things on 9/ll.

But if you were caught with a utility knife, you could always claim it was for opening boxes at work – or cutting paper or something.
