Best knife for $40-Gift Knife?

I really like SOG knives but it would be weird to buy one for a friend if I only had . It is my understanding that Kershaw is a fine knife maker and the leek with the black oxide coating looks pretty cool for . It’s the newer model with 14CKT steel so I know its a good deal but does anyone else have a good idea for a "pocket knife". I’d prefer something with decent steel, assisted opening, and built to last.

What pocket knife is best?

I’m looking for a pocket knife for my boyfriend for christmas. He has a one he uses so often I figured a nice one would be a good gift. I’m having trouble deciding which brand to choose. He doesnt hunt or anything. It’s just basically uses for everyday tasks and stuff around the house. Does anyone have any ideas of what brand or knife to look at? I know it needs to have a clip on it. Special gift for my long term boyfriend? 10 points to best idea!!!?

This year will be the fourth Christmas that my boyfriend and I have spent together. Every year I always get him two or three practical gifts (example: Tools) and a special meaningful gift.

1st year was a pocket knife with his name engraved on it
2nd year was a firefighting belt buckle with "I love you" on the back
3rd year was a framed photo of the two of us

This year I have no idea what kind of special gift to get him. I’m not going to get him a watch, pens, etc. because his grandparents have alerady claimed those as a gift so I’m stuck. I also can’t get him jewelry since he’s a firefighter/truck driver.

I’m stuck and really need some opinons on some special gifts.

What to get a boyscout/swimmer for Christmas?

My boyfriend is a full time boyscout leader as well as a full time swim coach. I wanna get him something that he doesn’t already have as well as something that he can use all year round. For you athletic/outdoor -type-of-guys which of these would be the best gift? (1) a nice, warm jacket (2) a pocket knife (3) shirts with funny sayings and music or (4) something else –???
