My younger cousins freind is 13 uears old. He lives in northern Jersey, and usually carries a Swiss Army Knife with him. He does not have any intent to hurt anyone or even for sself defense, he only carries it for the screw driver, scissors, etc. Is this legal? And if not, what are the punishments for doing so if you are caught? And what if a minor is caught using a swiss army knife, but not for harming anyone? Please answer as much as possible, thanks.

When I told my mother I plan on buying it, she was reluctant but she said fine. Then, my younger brother was eavesdropping on our conversation and freaked out. He told my parents than I want to buy a knife and nothing good will come of it. I told them I want it for self defense purposes, and they won’t listen to me. They agree with my younger brother, and say nothing good will come of it at all.
A few hours ago, guests came to our house and my younger brother decided to start-up the arguement again. He turned to my mother and said "Why is he getting a knife?" And she said "NO HE’S NOT!"
She went from being fine with it, to being completely resistant of it.
How do I convince my parents to allow me to buy a swiss army knife (a small one, that could fit in your pocket; that comes with a toothpick, scissors, etc.).? Also, why does my brother choose to start arguments? Thanks so much.
P.S. – I’m 17 and my brother is 13.

I bought a swiss army knife at a flea market today, and it IS a victorinox, I can tell that. However, I’d like to know what kind. It has a little image of a jet on it (well, some aircraft, looks like a jet to me). It is either a 3 1/4 or a 3 1/2 inch knife. It has:
toothpick
Tweezers
Small blade
Large Blade
Phillips Screw driver
Scissors
Can opener with small screw driver
file
Bottle opener with large screwdriver and wire stripper
Reamer
Wood saw
And one unidentified object.
Anyone know what it is?
My family agrees that it looks like a space shuttle. Please! Anybody! If someone has the correct answer, I’ll choose you as best answer!

To begin, I would like to thank you for your help. Today a couple buddies and me went down the shore to go fishing. I always bring along my great uncles Swiss Army knife, I guess for protection for also for general usage. Well today, my friend forgot to bring a knife to cut of some bait fish. I decided to let my friends use my knife to cut of the fishes. It is my fault by making the decision to allow my friends to use this priceless piece of heirloom. After every usage (cutting up the fish) my friends would just rinse the knife out in the ocean. After coming home from the trip, I wanted to clean out the knife incase there was anything left, and noticed that the cover became scratched and that the levers/tools on the knife became bumpy. I assume that sand has gotten in…I cleaned it out as best as I could, but now I am worried that the salt water may be potentially damaging to the knife. I can see marks where the salt has dried up on the knife. What should/can I do? Is there any place that I can take this sort of knife and have it repaired or cleaned out? Please, any help is greatly appreciated. I am in such deep regret for allowing the knife to be used in this sort of environment… and now I pay the price.

Can a swiss army knife be carried around in Florida (specifically Lakeland)? I’ve always liked the design, and know it could come useful.
Is it legal on a college campus? I’m not planning on killing someone with it (If I wanted to kill someone at school, it being legal or not wouldn’t matter since I’d still go to jail >.>) I just need to know if I’d have to leave it in my car whenever I have a class.
PS: If you ever desperately need something (like food, shelter, a ride, ect.) but your out of cash, offering up a swiss army knife may work out (people go crazy for a cool novelty item!). A pocket watch also works well.

I recently bought a used Victorinox Climber Swiss Army Knife on ebay. I want to know if it is real or fake. It may also be a older model. It has all the same functions as the real one, but the engravings on the blade make me question its authenticity. On the main blade, it is stamped "VICTORINOX; SWISS MADE; STAINLESS" and on the other side "OFFICIER; SUISSE". However, it does NOT have engraved the sign with the cross under the umbrella. It is real or fake? Please give as much information that you can provide. Thank you.

What would be the best swiss army knife for a 15 year old city boy to have? I want it to have a phillips head, scissors, and the other usual knife functions. Preferably under . Thank you!
